About
Bridging art, culture and climate action: the eBouddi environmental arts award.
We are grateful that Electrify Bouddi and the Bouddi Foundation for the Arts have come together in our community nestled alongside Bouddi National Park on NSW Central Coast to create this new award that approaches climate action by bringing to the surface young artistic talent, including our inaugural First Nations recipient. This award celebrates artistic works that connect with our environment and address climate concerns. Bouddi is the local First Nations word for heart. Art possesses extraordinary power to help us imagine sustainable futures. Our robust selection process, overseen by John Bell AO AM OBE who leads the Bouddi Foundation, ensures artistic excellence and meaningful environmental dialogue. We are honored to announce Courtney Garstang, a talented young Barkindji woman living on Darkinjung land, as our first recipient. Her work weaves traditional Indigenous knowledge with contemporary themes, creating powerful visual stories of connection to country. Experience Courtney's artwork: @baaka_sista This new annual grant supports artists while fostering community engagement with climate action. This initiative serves as a platform for sharing stories that inspire the Bouddi community and beyond. By investing in these talented artists, we ensure long-term contributions to cultural and environmental resilience. We would love you to join us on this ongoing celebration so can grow this initiative together.
