About
Energy Skills Queensland’s Women in Electricity program is tailored for female apprentices in the electrical trade. Proudly funded by the Women in Trade initiative from the Queensland Government. This initiative empowers aspiring female electricians by strengthening their skills and capabilities through a unique digital platform, equipping them to excel in a dynamic and expanding industry.
The program also supports employers in fostering more inclusive workplaces by deepening their understanding of how to support tradeswomen. Through industry roundtable discussions and the implementation of a workplace culture toolkit, employers gain practical insights and strategies to create environments where women can thrive.
Women in Electricity aspires to drive long-term change by increasing female representation, improving workplace culture, and ensuring women have equal access to career opportunities. By advocating for inclusivity and collaborating with industry stakeholders, the program aims to create a lasting impact on the workforce.
Being recognised as a finalist for the Diversity and Inclusion Champion award highlights the importance of this mission and reaffirms our commitment to empowering women in the energy sector.
Thank you once again for the great news and recognising ESQ in the work we are doing for women in the energy sector.
