Currently under construction, the Supernode project in Brisbane is a 760MW / 3096MWh BESS, one of the largest in the NEM. Strategically located beside the South Pine Switchyard, where 80% of Queensland’s power flows daily, Supernode will enhance grid stability, reduce blackouts and improve supply reliability during peak demand. Supernode utilises best-in-class technology designed for long-term stability and performance, ensuring efficient power distribution at lower delivered energy costs.

 

With Origin Energy contracting Stages 1 and 2 for a combined nameplate capacity of 520MW / 1856MWh, Supernode will provide secure and flexible energy to a broad mix of households, businesses, and industrial users. The project has created local jobs, strengthened Queensland’s workforce, and championed economic growth by repurposing underutilised metropolitan farmland into a critical energy asset.
